Activist, author and speaker, Zoe Nicholson was one of seven women who, in an act of conscience, fasted for 37 days in 1982 to support ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA). Her experiences formed the basis of her book, The Hungry Heart - A Woman's Fast for Justice. As a contributor to Feminists who Changed America 1963 – 1975, she edited and/or wrote over 120 biographies of Second Wave veteran feminists.

Nicholson has spoken extensively on activism and the ERA at college campuses and universities, and on pay equity at the 2008 National Conference Federally Employed Women.

Nicholson holds a B.A. in Theology from Quincy University and a M.A. in Ethics from the University of Southern California. She has been a high school teacher, a women's bookstore owner, and director of a health clinic, and has worked in high tech, software development, and recruiting for over 15 years.

She is a member of the ERA Roundtable, a life-long member of NOW and proud member of the Veteran Feminists of America.

A blogger for nearly a decade, Nicholson writes about women's issues, politics, and current events at OnlineWithZoe.com.
