Palin's Environmental Legacy as Governor/Mother - Toxic Dumping & High Birth Defects
Friday October 10, 2008
"Sarah Palin is fond of citing both her energy expertise and her love for the environment," writes my colleague Larry West who covers Environmental Issues, "but the longer Palin is on the national stage the more we learn about her troubling, and in some cases disastrous, environmental record. And the more we discover how often her support for polluting industries and energy producers trumps her environmental concerns—even when it means placing the health of children and the general public at serious risk."
He explains further in "Did Palin Put Children and Public at Risk by Favoring Industry Over Environment?"
Some disturbing facts I learned from Larry:
- The birth defect rate in Alaska is twice the national average
- The birth defect rate of the North Slope - the area Palin touts as rich in resources - where most of Alaska's oil is produced is nearly four times the national average.

Keep drinking your kool-aid.
She is a disgrace.
I sincerely hope she fades into oblivion when McCain loses the election. She is NOT the type of person we need in powerful positions, and she is NOT the type of person to be a good role model for our young girls.
If the Republican party decides that she should run for the White House in 2012, I hope the public remembers that she showed some of her true characteristics this last couple of months….and they are ugly and dangerous.
It’s known that toxins cause birth defects. How ignorant can a person be to let greed overpower the instinct to protect our young!
I just don’t understand how she has managed to hoodwink so many gullible people into thinking she’s so good. But then again….PT Barnum said there was one ( a fool ) born every minute!!!
