Why did you start your blog?

As a woman, and a psychologist who works with women, day after day I see the negative, stressful impact of societal expectations on women's lives. A huge part of relieving that stress is challenging those expectations that constantly bombard us--in our own heads, and from every angle through media and relationships. I wanted to help women do just that, freeing them to be themselves and live their lives in ways that work for them, rather than being governed by the societal 'shoulds.'

What do you cover in your blog?

My mission is to arm women against the pressures of modern life. I focus on women's issues: unrealistic expectations, parenting, societal standards and issues, guilt, relationships, perfectionism, empowerment, self-esteem. I try to make posts psychologically educational in nature, often tied to current events, and entertaining as well. I offer concrete ways to challenge our thinking, in order to feel better about ourselves as women.
