Why did you start your blog?
I spend a lot of time reading about women issues on the web and in the papers. Soon I realized that the plight of women in India is exaggerated by foreigners and undermined by Indians. I started this blog with the idea of striking a balance. I have since gotten a wonderful response from both Indian and international readers. My blog is 34 posts and 38 followers strong already.
What do you cover in your blog?
My blog speaks the truth and nothing but the truth. My articles are based on a variety of topics- gritty stories of harassment and torture,celebrating stories of survival and victory, summarized biographies of women to be admired and so on. I also write about how the idea of feminism is changing with the passage of time and write strongly against male bashing.
Advice
- Be honest, simple and to the point (unless your blog is creative). People would rather read your point of view than an amalgamation of borrowed sophisticated words.
- Encourage opinions from your readers
- Interact with other bloggers who write blogs similar to your own. This gives you a better perspective.
