Katie Couric may be getting mixed reviews on the CBS Evening News. But in 2008 she won a prestigious award and managed to rattle a vice presidential candidate.

Katie Couric may be last in the ratings, but she's TV's highest-paid anchor. And in 2008, she was honored with the Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast and hit paydirt on YouTube with her widely-viewed Sarah Palin interview. She was also high-profile enough to have Amy Poehler attempt a Katie Couric impersonation on Saturday Night Live. But we think that unlike Tina Fey as Sarah Palin, we prefer the real thing to the imitation.
