2008 Election Results Support Abortion Rights, Thwart Same-Sex Marriage

In her post "Brief Election Recap: President, Senate, Governors and Initiatives," my colleague Kathy Gill of US Politics looks at how voters in several states responded to initiatives covering two volatile issues: abortion/definition of life and same-sex marriage. Here's her assessment of the first:
Will South Dakota's rejection of a ban on abortion -- and Colorado's rejection of a definition of life that begins at fertilization -- finally put this issue to bed?
