Have You Seen Sarah Palin's Doodles from 1996?

Tuesday October 7, 2008
If doodles are the outpourings of the subconscious, then this quirky glimpse into Sarah Palin's past is rich with possible interpretations.

It seems that when The New Republic's senior editor Noam Scheiber went on a journey of exploration to Alaska recently, he got his hands on something utterly unexpected - a page from an old Wasilla city budget. On the back of it the young and ambitious Sarah Palin - at the time a city council member - scribbled and doodled and plotted her run for mayor.

The page is covered with thin penned notes and a fat bold SARAH PALIN MAYOR written in Sharpie; it contains possible slogans for her campaign, along with what she regarded as her qualifications.

Here's the story Scheiber posted yesterday of how he got the goods, and here's an up-close look at a scan of the actual page.
