'Free Sarah Palin' - What Campbell Brown Calls 'Sexist' is Fairytale Chivalry
I keep watching the news, expecting to see some strapping young political handler bend down to spread his pocket handkerchief over a puddle so that Sarah Palin won't get her feet wet. Isn't that what noblemen used to do in bygone days, and isn't that what's metaphorically going on now?
CNN's Campbell Brown has called this sexist and has insisted Team McCain 'Free Sarah Palin.' But really, it's only chivalry carried out to an unheard-of degree. If they keep Palin protected behind a prickly wall of thorns (her handlers and advisors), she'll be able to rest peacefully like Sleeping Beauty (and concentrate on her social studies, geography, and political science homework.) If the nation votes her in, she'll wake to the kiss of her President (the knight in shining armor who swept her away from the drudgery of governorship and carried her off to Washington) and together they'll rule over a (ahem) prosperous and (cough) peaceful land.
I know, as little girls, we were all raised on the sugar-coated ending "...and they all lived happily ever after." But for many of us, Palin's happy ending would be our own worst nightmare. Free Sarah Palin. Release her from the chains of Team McCain's chivalry and let her tell her own story. Because if she ever does, without a doubt she'll sabotage her own happy ending. And when the clock strikes midnight at the close of election day, she'll turn back into what she always was - what GOP mastermind Karl Rove calls an unqualified 'political pick.' And I don't need to look into my crystal ball to see that coming.

Yes, yes, yes!
Why is everyone so angry, bitter and disrepectful in their remarks to all the people running for office.. The muslims must love seeing our country so divided.. Didn’t you even learn .. If you don’t have anything nice to say.. Don’t say it.. Just keep you mouths quite and VOTE>>
liberals are so mean. BTW, your just mad a republican woman could actually be Vice President and not a democrat. GO SARAH!!!!!
GOOD GRIEF,
The rest of the world must be laughing at us.
She looks like a “smiling” BOBBLEHEAD all the time. It is so fake…just like a Mary Kay or Avon Representative.
Can you imagine if he has a stroke – he can not do more than one thing at a time – and we have “BOBBLEHEAD” as President. God Help Us All !
Perfectly articulated, Ms. Brown. Are you available for V.P.?
No, no, Ms. Brown is too articulate for VP. Can’t have her upstaging the boss. Oh, wait . . .
Anyway, I’d be happy to see Elizabeth Dole, Madeline Albright, Condi Rice or even Dana Perino on a national ticket. There are plenty of qualified women in the country, whether you agree with their politics or not.
“nicole says:

Nicole, you have it all wrong!!! No one is mad a woman actually may be Vice President; quite the contrary. I for one am disappointed the choice wasn’t a better one no matter what party affiliation. She’s a woman; so what! Is that the only necessary qualification? Good GOD no!!! C’mon people! Get real! I’m afraid. Very afraid. And you should be, too Nicole. You really should be too.
What Sarah Palin had was NERVE.If she was truly qualified, she wouldn’t have felt the need to keep trying to make Obama look inexperienced.I listened to McCain, and Palin on RNC nite, and it was as tho’ they thought they were on Sat Night Live. How ironic that SNL was the one who started “putting cracks” in that glass Republican ceiling. All McCrank/Palin have is their nerve. However nerve is not synonymous with progressive.Jn liked the lime lite of his war hero status& Sarah of her beauty pagent era. But,now they are both in the wrong arena. That’s why they both look so uncomfortablethese days. Thanks Katie, for those on the spot questions. It’s stillso true that “pride goes before a fall”.
