Michelle Obama on the Working Women and Families Blueprint
Wednesday July 30, 2008
If you have half an hour (and even if you don't, you should make the time), watch Michelle Obama talk very personally about her life as a working woman; what she learned attending working women's roundtables across the country; the stories of women struggling to feed their families and find safe, reliable childcare; and how these topics relate to her husband's Women and Families Blueprint. In Michelle's own words:
I hear these stories everywhere I go, from women doing everything that's asked of them, and these women aren't asking for much. They're not asking for government to solve all their problems. They're willing to work. They're just hoping that Washington will understand what's happening to families on the ground, particularly mothers with the variety of challenges that they face.Michelle's remarks were made during a Chicago gathering of Women For Obama on Monday, July 28th.
