Maria Pinto, the Woman Who Makes Michelle Obama Look Good

Wednesday June 18, 2008
The media seems to have locked onto the idea that Michelle Obama is a fashion icon.

Although I'm more interested in the substance of her words than the outfits in her wardrobe, I can't deny that clothes make the woman (just as they do the man.)

And during her appearance on ABC's The View, she revealed that she favors Chicago designer Maria Pinto.

So who is Maria Pinto? Here's her bio gleaned from Chicago newspaper and magazine accounts and interviews with national outlets. The Black Snob also has details and features a gazillion photos of Michelle Obama dressed to the nines.

If you must have 'the look' and are in the Chicago area this summer, Maria Pinto's first boutique should be opening in the West Loop neighborhood sometime in July or August.

Personally, this is just a ploy to advertise the new boutique. Who cares, I do NOT but I am sure BOmama fans do.
Jesus Christ, Nobama is not President, so give her cloth style a rest.Again, the View went easy on this Angry Black Woman. A leopard does not change it spots. You can cover them but change them, NOT

Woah, LAChicna, what gives? Those of us who live in Chicago see her much differently. Like the saying goes, a rising tide floats many boats. For many of us, it’s great to see Michelle rising and taking local designers, chefs, any many others along with her. We see her as an incredibly viable First Lady, a successful career woman, and a great mom-wife role model. As for her anger, well a lot of people might say there’s a lot to be angry about. So, why doesn’t she get to be angry when you do?

Just because Michele Obama wears Maria Pinto, it doesn’t mean it is so great, clothes simply do not fit her. In my opinion, if Michele Obama becomes first lady, she will need to find another dressmaker(which I don’t think is going to be a problem)

It is so sad that people like LAChicna plays out her anger by dissing on other folks Pinto is cool and so is Michelle. Her choice in clothes just asserts her individuality. So why don’t we quit the hateration all women will benefit from the strong woman, wife, and mother that she is. What she wears is not angry it says, “I’m not afraid”.

My God it never cease to amaze me at the crazy things haters will come with. What the hell would you say if Mrs. Obama had to have her clothes purchase by the Democractic Presidential Committee….like the Republican had to do for Sarah and family. Oh, I see….you simply forgot that. As my granddaughter (who is 11 yrs old) would say ?Get Some Business”

Agreed, that we are all interested in the substance of Michelle’s words, however, CLOTHING COMMUNICATES, loud and clear! Michelle’s choice of dress reflects the substance of her mind and her mood.
