Children Having Children: Majority of Polygamist Sect's Teen Girls Pregnant, or Already Moms

A woman hates to tell her age. Especially when she's a teenage mother from the Yearning For Zion ranch, the Texas polygamy sect that had its children - all 463 of them - seized by the state's Child Protective Services.
The Salt Lake Tribune reports that over half the teen girls age 14-17 are either currently pregnant or have given birth to babies.
They're children having children.
The Tribune article includes a chart breaking down the ages of the children seized, and cites the comments of critics who say the numbers are erroneous:
…[S]ome women may be claiming to be minors in order to stay with their children, since CPS is only allowing mothers breast-feeding infants 12 months or younger or who are teenagers to remain in shelters….Related articles:[CPS spokesman Darrell] Azar rebutted the critics, saying CPS has had to counter many erroneous claims.
"The simple truth is there is a steady flow of misinformation, which is often the case when people who may have abused children, and those who never stepped in to protect them, try to discredit those who move to protect [the children]," Azar said.

Just to play the Devil’s Advocate… but given the framework of this “society” these women live in – which observes a paradigm that was the norm for thousands of years before the current American era… why is this surprising?
Again, we may call it abuse and outrageous, but an anthropologist from another time and place – past or future may call it the norm and look at our advanced, liberated cultural blip as the deviation.
Just saying maybe…
I hope the American People and their Justice System will put these Dirty OLD men behind Bars where they belong. Then maybe the Canadian Justice System will do the RIGHT thing and go after the Bountyful mormon camp near Creston, British Columbia, where these old men can have sex with 14 yr old girls. That IS SICK!! Lets protect these brainwashed children.
It sounds very wrong to me-it sounds like a bunch of dirty old men using God to raise a bunch of little girls to have more little girls for them to have sex with. Oh, that sounds like a pedophile ring, doesn’t it? Instead of using computers and photos they traded the real thing.
