Cindy McCain's Recipe For Success? Politics and Cookin' Don't Mix

Wednesday April 16, 2008
Don't ask the candidate's wife about cooking. I'm all for promoting the idea that it's not polite to talk about recipes in mixed (i.e. Democrat & Republican) company.

If we want good recipes, there's epicurious.com and of course the Food Network (where many a GOP - grand old plagiarizer - has lifted a recipe or two), not to mention the many Food Guides here at About.com

Don't expect Cindy McCain, Michelle Obama, or that recovering-candidate's-wife Hillary Clinton to provide you with any keepers that will make it into the family recipe box. (Although Hillary's chocolate chip cookie recipe from her post-Tammy Wynette feudin' days is still circulating out there.)

Since when did having a good cook in the White House make or break an election? Isn't there a White House chef that comes with the deal?

I may or may not agree with - or even like - John McCain. But don't we have better things to do than go after his wife for her 'recipes'?
