Pregnant Man - Thomas and Nancy's First TV Interview on Oprah

Oprah was clearly nervous during the interview. But she did Thomas, the pregnant man, and his wife Nancy justice in his first TV interview. The couple decided to go on Oprah because they wanted to tell their own story before the media got out in front of them with outrageous claims and insensitive coverage.
Go take a look. See the video and the still photos. Hear what Thomas and Nancy have to say before you come to any conclusions. If we were in their shoes, any of us would deserve at least that much.

People should stop calling this freak a man. It’s not. It’s a very sick woman. Check the DNA, there’ll be two “X” chromosomes and no “Y” chromosomes. That means it’s a woman. Case closed. I feel sorry for the poor child.
I used to love Oprah. No longer. She a sick racist opportunist. The doctors that took part in this should have their licenses revoked!!
It’s disgusting that their soon to be born daughter will have to put up with a lot of abuse and ridicule because her father is her mother. It’s disgusting if the couple did it for kicks.
But I don’t think they did it for any other reason but that they wanted to concieve a child. They seem a loving couple, and the wife’s grown daughters are positive about this, and about their half-sister. The baby will have a supportive family. May she have supportive neighbours.
The really sick part is the abuse she will get from people who will not see her as a ‘normal’ child. The parents are married. If they have committed a sin against God, let God deal with it. The worse sin come from people who think the child is abnormal.

i live in the netherlands and just saw the oprah show on dutch television.
i myself am a lesbian and am living for 16 years happely with my woman, she has 2 girls from a former marriage and we are one happy family. we have had some tuf times but we are still keeping up loving one another and respecting people.

It doesn’t matter if you are genetically born male or female, what matters is how you, the individual, identify yourself. Those who say that Thomas is a ‘freak’ or a ‘very sick woman’ are clearly close-minded people who are too weak to see past their misconceptions or what society deems to be ‘right’. For those who are the religious and believe that what the Beatie family did goes against ‘God’, I truly believe that you people are the ones who will end up in ‘Hell’ or whatever place of damnation your religion believes in.
By the way this is from the mouth of a Catholic Daughter and hope that Thomas and Nancy have the strength, Courage, and determination to obtain all the happiness they and their family deserve.
I just caught the program about Thomas & Nancy on Discovery Health. They seem like awesome parents and great people. Congrats to them on Thomas’s second pregnancy! I hope things continue to go well for their family.

I live in the UK and have just seen a program about Thomas and Nancy. What I find hidious is some peoples reaction,so visous and full of hate. These are a loving couple who wanted a baby, who will love and care for their baby. Does it matter that in the past Thomas was a woman. NO, they have been called monsters, well here in the UK a mother, her boyfriend and another man have been found guilty of killing her 17 month old baby boy, he was beaten for months, had his back broken, teeth smahed and other things. They are monsters, not Thomas and Nancy. And who will make their little girl feel bad about herself, not them, but us the so called normal public
Why don’t you leave them alone. They just wanted a kid and this was the best way to get one. I hope they are happy with there doughter. I’m from Holland and you Americans claim to be verry open to everything but I say you are narrow minded.
Thomas and Nancy I wish you the best and hope for the three of you that the American people become a little bit more like the Dutch.

I am yet to see an ideal marriage between a man and woman. As long as you can hold on to your marriage with love, peace, happiness and respect, you can call yours an ideal.
Why so much hue and cry about gender identity!! How many genotypically and phenotypically perfect (so called)people could happy marriage? May be you are a better person in male role because you do not have any Y-chromosome!! You have my support and respect.
I agree with the poster from the Neatherlands that a lot of Americans want the rest of the world to think we are an open minded community when, in reality, a lot of us (myself excluded) are as close-minded as it can get.
I, for one, am very happy for Thomas and Nancy and their decision to bring a child into this world with LOVE!!! Their daughter will grow up in a household full of love and acceptance. She will be a great big sister with the guidance of two wonderful parents who’s love exceeds that of many “open-minded” Americans in their relationships.
LOVE IS LOVE no matter how you look at. Thomas and Nancy manifest that love to each other and their child.
Congratulations to you both. I only hope your love opens the eyes of many people in our country and shows them that your lives are normal.
