Okay, so I don't typically look to supermarket tabloid OK! Magazine to validate my personal beliefs. But a short article from their Red Carpet Confidential reporter Valerie Nome supports my ever-growing hero worship of Tina Fey in the aftermath of her guest host appearance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend (the night 'bitches' came into their own). My reasons:
- Fey talks to her two-year-old daughter Alice like a peer. So do I, and I think that's why I have a pretty good relationship with my teenage daughters (except when they catch me writing about them here).
- Fey, who's allergic to animals, didn't do the 'let's get a pet as a trial run for being a parent' thing, which I admit to doing. (BTW, the puppy was much harder to raise in the first week than the baby. That's why I only have one dog - but two girls.)
- Fey carries a big red bag. (You don't want to know how many big red bags I own. It's a weakness of mine. Like potato chips, it's tough to have just one.)
Hey, reason number four...the character she plays on her hit show 30 Rock...Liz Lemon. Doesn't that sound an awful lot like Linda Lowen? And compare her photo with mine. Can't you see we're like practically twins separated at birth?
