Naughty and Nice

Talk about the inequities of political correctness.

In the U.S. it's okay to call a standing Senator and presidential candidate a 'bitch.' But in Australia, seasonal Santas have been told not to say 'ho, ho, ho.' Why? It's so close to slang for 'prostitute' that it may offend women. Instead, they've been asked to chortle 'ha, ha, ha' by the staffing firm that hires and trains them.

Rupert Murdoch's tabloid The Daily Telegraph reported this story on Thursday, but the CBC disputes it, citing a statement on the website of Weststaff denying any such thing.

Ah, what a strange world we live in.

Next thing you know, they'll try to stop Santa Claus from coming...to town.
