Is the U.S. Ready for a Female President?

Tuesday November 13, 2007
Back in 1872, Victoria Woodhull ran for President of the United States on the Equal Rights Party ticket.

We still don't have equal rights, but we do have another woman running for president - Hillary Rodham Clinton - the first female candidate to have a good shot at the top.

Putting arguments discussions about her electability aside, the first question should be: Is the U.S. ready to elect a woman president?

That probably depends in part on the next question: Would you elect a woman president?
