A Rape By Any Other Name

Tuesday October 23, 2007
Philadelphia may be the City of Brotherly Love. But there's no sisterly compassion in the heart of one female judge who recently tossed out a rape victim's case because the judge felt she wasn't "really raped."

Why? Because the victim was a prostitute.

True...the 20-year-old single mother did initially agreed to have sex with one man. But when a gun was pointed at her and she was gang-raped by a handful of guys against her will, what would you call that? (I can think of several things, none of them very nice.)

Instead of rape, the judge held the assailant on charges of "theft of services" because she noted the prostitute didn't get paid.

Judge not lest ye be judged...or lest ye agree to consensual sex and find that 'friends with benefits' means all his buddies get in on the action too.

I can not believe this! It is an outrage! She should get theft of services and pain and suffering, but they should also get jail time for RAPE!

The judgment is purely astonishing, dreadful and unjust. Rape – in any shape or kind would remain consider [RAPE]. Yes! She was agreed upon to have a paid-sex with ONE CLINET ONLY. However, the agreement becomes null and wide with the appearance of gun: pointing to the head of that prostitute (still a woman).

I would say that the basic human rights violated therein and hence that JUDGE should be question by the respective authorities and must re-consider his/her ability to run a court biz.

And here was I thinking judges had to be pretty smart. Did no one ever tell her if it walk like a duck, quacks like a duck then it probably is a duck.
I don’t care what this woman was, prostitute, doctor ,lawyer, Indian chief, if anyone had sex with her without her consent then, gee judge, isn’t that rape?

This is just awful! and a woman judge at that. Its like saying to cops that they deserve to get shot because they carry a fire arm.Even with the judges line of thinking,at the very least these guys should be charged with armed robbery and sentenced to the max.
RAPE is RAPE, no matter who the person is!This judge should be disbarred!

This judge should be disbarred or at the very least censured harshly.

When I was raped it seemed like some of the female court staff were bending over backwards to pro-women.
