FlyLady Marla Cilley Cures CHAOS

Tuesday October 16, 2007
You're chronically disorganized and living in what could be classified as a federal disaster area inside your home.

Surrounded by excess stuff and piles of things you keep meaning to deal with, you're unable to find anything but can't bring yourself to let go of the junk. You're lost as to how you might begin to declutter your home, your office, your car, your life.

You need an intervention from the FlyLady, the Internet's self-help organizing guru, who will take you by the hand and cure the CHAOS (Can't Have Anyone Over Syndrome) that has seized you in its messy grip.

For the past 8 years, the FlyLady's website has dispensed wit and wisdom to help even the most neatness-challenged woman unearth the harmonious home buried under years of clutter. And every piece of her advice is absolutely free at FlyLady.net

I first found the FlyLady website about six years ago. Word of mouth brought me there. It's fun and actually addictive to follow her inventive, doesn't-feel-like-work steps on how to get organized. And she gets you going with a pep talk that explains how it all starts with a clean kitchen sink.

She's also written a book that looks at weight as a form of clutter - Body Clutter.

The FlyLady is also a smart lady. She doesn't plaster her website with her photos. Instead, it's fronted by her cartoon persona - a sort of fairy godmother of organizing, complete with wings.

I've always been curious about the woman who could launch a thousand clean sinks and inspire nearly half-a-million followers to register for her Yahoo Group - the largest in the world. And in an exclusive interview I had with Marla Cilley, the woman behind FlyLady, I found out why her buzz is well-deserved.
