Maternity Leave - Plan Sooner Than Later

Despite the fact that nearly 50% of couples marrying today will eventually split up, you'd never tell a newlywed she should start planning now for a possible divorce. That would be rude and tasteless

But a childless working woman nurturing the urge to become a mother should look into workplace maternity leave policies - the earlier the better.

Seventy percent of women working at the time of their pregnancy opt for some time off after childbirth.

So if you're thinking about getting pregnant in the near future, resist picking up a baby name book. Instead, pick up your company's employee manual to figure out what your options are.
