Female Pundits - More Sexist Than Males?

Tuesday October 2, 2007
When the first George Bush was running for President, Barbara Bush was asked what she thought of his opponent, Vice Presidential candidate Geraldine Ferraro.

All agree that the first eight words were, "I can't say it, but it rhymes with BLANK." Some say the final word was "rich" while others state it was "witch."

The story would be water under the bridge except for yesterday's op-ed piece by Salon Editor-in-Chief Joan Walsh. She observed that sexist comments by female pundits such as Maureen Dowd, and loaded words like "nag" and "witches" in reference to Hillary Clinton, "served to reinforce stereotypes, not dispel them."

The more things change, the more they stay the same.
