Today marks seven years since RU-486 (commonly referred to as the Abortion Pill) was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.

Marketed under the name Mifeprex (mifepristone) in the United States, it continues to stir debate as opponents argue that the drug may have “unsafe characteristics.”
